A Registrar of Voters is responsible for registering voters, managing elections and keeping voting related records.
Most of the duties in Charlton have been delegated to the Town Clerk and Assistant Town Clerk.
However, other appointed Registrars are called to duty as needed, such as during elections or for a recount.
Two Charlton Democratic Registrars are elected for appointment by the Charlton Democratic Town Committee.
The CDTC chair notifies the Town in writing of the recommendations and the Select Board appoints them for 3 year terms in February or March for the new term to begin in April.
